Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representatives Tarr and Gillham: Page 1, line 2, following "Trail" (title amendment): Insert "; naming the Bragaw Street overcrossing of the Glenn Highway the Insook Baik Bridge; naming the Congressman Don Young Bridge;" Page 1, line 3, following "trail": Insert "and the bridges" Page 2, following line 18: Insert new bill sections to read: "* Sec. 4. AS 35.40 is amended by adding a new section to read: Sec. 35.40.223. Insook Baik Bridge. The Bragaw Street overcrossing of the Glenn Highway located in Mountain View in Anchorage is named the Insook Baik Bridge. * Sec. 5. AS 35.40 is amended by adding a new section to read: Sec. 35.40.405. Congressman Don Young Bridge. Bridge number 1818 to be built across the Juneau Creek Canyon on the Sterling Highway is named the Congressman Don Young Bridge." Renumber the following bill sections accordingly. Page 3, following line 5: Insert a new bill section to read: "* Sec. 8. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to read: DONATIONS FOR INSOOK BAIK BRIDGE SIGNAGE AND INFORMATIONAL DISPLAYS. Notwithstanding the absence of separate accounting authority under AS 37.05.146, the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities may accept gifts, donations, and grants from a person or agency for the purpose of providing signage 2022-05-15 House Journal Page 2933 and informational displays for the Insook Baik Bridge. Gifts, donations, and grants shall be used in accordance with a memorandum of understanding agreed on by the donor and the department." Representative Gillham moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Representative Carpenter objected. Representative Tuck moved and asked unanimous consent that Representative Merrick be excused from a call of the House today. There being no objection, it was so ordered. Representative Gillham moved and asked unanimous consent to withdraw Amendment No. 1. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The Speaker stated that, without objection, HCS CSSB 203(FIN) would be held in second reading to tomorrow's calendar.
